Impact · the reason we exist

Your ride supports the work you'll see with your own eyes

The organisations you meet on the road, and what riders have contributed so far.

How it works

Ride. Learn. Contribute.

Ride

Small groups, fully supported, real roads. A guide who has ridden every kilometre, and a support van that follows close behind or meets you at set points along the way.

Learn

Every ride visits local, grassroots NGOs. You see the work, meet the experts, ask the hard questions.

Contribute

At the end of the ride, you choose the organisation that impacted you the most, and we'll contribute 200 AUD on your behalf.

Child protection

Travelling Child Safe

Social Cycles is an official partner of ChildSafe, the child-protection movement started by Friends International.

In the places we ride, tourists can do harm without meaning to. Giving money to a child who is begging, visiting an orphanage or taking photos in a classroom all make it pay to keep children on show and out of school.

So on every ride the group sits down with Friends International, or one of its partners, to learn how to travel without causing that harm. Our riders do not visit or interact with children at schools or nurseries, do not photograph children during NGO visits, and we do not offer short-term unskilled volunteering.
